Using Apple Cider Vinegar in Baked Chicken, Salads and Pickled Veggies

Making Homemade Apple Cider Vinegar:

1. Gather the ingredients: Apples, water, and sugar (optional).

2. Wash the apples thoroughly and cut them into small pieces, removing the cores.

3. Place the apple pieces in a large glass jar or container.

4. Add enough water to cover the apples completely.

5. If desired, add a small amount of sugar to help kickstart the fermentation process.

6. Cover the jar with a cheesecloth or a coffee filter and secure it with a rubber band.

7. Store the jar in a dark, cool place for about 2-4 weeks, stirring the mixture every few days.

8. After a few weeks, you will notice a vinegar-like smell and a layer of "mother" forming on top. This is a sign that fermentation has occurred.

9. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the apple pieces and mother.

10. Transfer the liquid back into the jar and cover it again with the cheesecloth or coffee filter.

11. Allow the mixture to sit for another 2-4 weeks, stirring occasionally.

12. Taste the vinegar periodically until it reaches your desired acidity level.

13. Once the vinegar is ready, transfer it to a clean, airtight bottle or jar for storage.
