Stop Potatoes Turning Brown
Add a good
splash of cider vinegar to the water into which you slice potatoes. When you
have finished you can dry them, prior to frying, with far less chance of their
going brown.
Steaming
Vegetables.
When you
cook vegetables by steaming them, there is less vitamin and mineral loss this
way. Add two teaspoonful of cider vinegar to the water you use. This helps the
vegetables keep their color without the vitamin C depleting effect that comes
from using bicarbonate of soda.
Sore Throat
Mix this
special gargle which will give instant relief.
275 ml apple
cider vinegar
100g honey
25g red sage
Heat the
cider vinegar with the herbs until it is almost, but not quite, boiling. Do not
use an aluminium pan. Allow to cool slowly. Strain after 24 hours, add the
honey, stir until dissolved. Bottle and close securely. Use two teaspoonfuls in
half a glass of water.
